The first radon reading will appear approximately 6 hours after startup. The device continues updating radon measurements every 6 hours to help provide a clearer understanding of indoor radon conditions over time.

2. Does the RD17 require an app or Wi-Fi connection?

No. The RD17 is designed for simple, app-free operation. All radon, temperature, and humidity readings can be viewed directly on the built-in 3.5-inch IPS color display.

3. What does the RD17 measure?

The RD17 is a 3-in-1 indoor monitoring device that measures:

  • Radon concentration
  • Temperature
  • Humidity

It helps users monitor indoor environmental conditions in homes, basements, bedrooms, offices, RVs, and other indoor spaces.

4. What radon range can the RD17 detect?

The RD17 measures radon levels from:

0–270 pCi/L

(0–9990 Bq/m³)

It supports both pCi/L and Bq/m³ display units.

5. How accurate is the RD17 radon measurement?

The RD17 is designed with ±10% radon measurement accuracy under normal operating conditions.

For more reliable evaluation, continuous monitoring and longer measurement periods are recommended.

6. Can I use the RD17 in my basement?

Yes. The RD17 is suitable for basements and other frequently occupied indoor areas.

For best results:

  • Place it in an open area
  • Keep the air inlet unobstructed
  • Avoid direct airflow from fans or vents

7. Does the RD17 need to stay plugged in?

No. The RD17 supports flexible use.

You can:

  • Plug it into a wall outlet for continuous monitoring
  • Use the built-in rechargeable battery for portable checks
  • Attach it to compatible metal surfaces using the magnetic mount

8. How long is the historical data stored?

The RD17 can store up to 385 days of historical radon data.

Users can review short-term and long-term trends through:

  • 6-hour average
  • 1-day average
  • 7-day average

9. Does the screen stay on all the time?

No. To improve nighttime comfort, the display automatically turns off after approximately 1 minute while radon monitoring continues in the background.

10. Is calibration required?

No calibration is required for normal operation.

Simply power on the device and allow sufficient time for measurements to develop.
